ANYONE of color should be very aware of this person and not receive care from her. She has publicly spewed racial epithets and destroyed private property in her Racial Hatred. As this behaviour appears to be allowed by Atrium Health I would suggest that you find another provider as such biased and prejudiced people can not be trusted to provide adequate or safe care.

So people know how they are, Rip offs

I had an mri done back on January 18, 2024 for which my insurance pre approved through 12/19/2023 to 01/17/2024 I got a bill for 5,131.51 in I believe it was June, when I called they said the insurance denied my claim. I called my insurance and we have been trying all this time to fix it, instead I get a notice saying that if I dont make a payment within 15 days it goes to collection.

Come to find out it was a hospital error, because I was suppose to have the mri done between 12/19/2023 and 01/17/2024 and the hospital had me do it on 01/18/2024. So now they dont want to take responsibility and now theyre trying to get me to pay it when I had insurance to cover it.

But atrium health Hospital made the error. And of course they dont want to stand up to the plate and except responsibility, no wonder they got so many complaints on BBB, They like to screw the patients.

I have had a couple of terrible experiences with Atrium Health. One was at their ER in Pineville and another at a branch on Copper Way in Ballantyne.

In both cases the issue was with the medical personnel who should all lose their licenses.

Atrium doesn't care about the patients who come to them -- then again, I advise all to avoid Novant Uptown Presbyterian as well (another nightmare!). We don't have much in the way of hospitals to choose from here in Charlotte!

Awful customer service on the phone

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Dr. Banas cancelled my appointment and a lady named Adrian or Andrea or whatever tried to call me to reschedule, when I asked her to confirm why the appointment needed to be rescheduled she was very rude and pissed off.

That was unacceptable customer service.

Failed back surgery and months of hellish pain continuation

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I awoke on 11/16/23 in excruciating pain and could barely get out of bed. I waited 9 days to try to settle the pain before going to the ER at the Atrium Cabarrus Hospital to get help.

Over the following 5 months my life has been destroyed and my sanity is in jeopardy. I have had 4 MRIs, a CAT scan, 2 sets of standard X-rays, 2 ultrasounds of my bladder, injections into the nerves in my L4 and L5 spaces to relieve the pain until I could be scheduled for back surgery. I was also given prescriptions for heavy duty drugs that I could not tolerate and interacted with my current daily meds. Every second since I have been suffering.

The callous attitude I have been shown has shocked me. How can any medical person sit with you and still use excuses as to why they can not give you the help you need. I am 71 years old and because of the fact that my neurosurgeon is not competent enough to spend the time ahead of a surgical procedure to make 100% sure of what needs to be done to come out with a successful outcome, has permanently destroyed parts of my life. It is remarked in one of the notes from an ER doctor that I was observed playing games on my cell phone and I made 4 trips to the bathroom without a problem.

Both these statements are misleading in an attempt to make this doctor look right in their reasoning to do nothing of any real value to help me. I did go to the restroom several times but, I was helped to get there every step by my husband who was practically carrying me. Then the observation was made that I was playing games on my phone. I was attempting to control my ever worsening panic.

This doctor did not mention the loud screaming, crying and hysteria coming from my room which could be heard through the entire ER department. And she decided that I was not in need of being admitted to get relief from my pain and have a post surgery MRI performed so an informed plan of action to alleviate the pain could be put into action immediately. I have been treated as if I am invisible and my pain is not a problem for anyone but myself.

The Atrium system of healthcare is a big fat O! I want my pain to be eliminated 100% and I want to be treated like a human being during the times I am in an emergency health crises.

The wait process is ridulous.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I brought my daughter in at 7:00 pm on April 1,2024 because of a cyst in the inside of her left breast. the checking was fine.

we were able to get a room pretty quick. we were taking to what they call fast med. there's nothing fast bout this. my daughter was taking to get a ultasound and a mri.round 9:30 that area closed at 10.

got them done. the lady was nice. there was suppose to been a lady transporter to bring my daughter back to the room. the lady had to find her.

did not I got a txt from my daughter like mom I'm just waiting for someone to bring me back. I see someone and this guy tells me they have no way in knowing who is bringing her back to the room. that she is not by herself but that was a lie because my daughter told me she was. now someone from the surigical team comes and ask questions then leaves never seen again.

three hours go by another one comes. explains that he would do the drainage never comes back. no one has came to check on her see how she was doing. how her pain level.

was. at 225 am I g out and I see the same lady who came to see my daughter and I'm like do you know the update on my daughter and she is like she is still waiting. my point to all this is why keep patients waiting without any updates? why not check on the patients from time to time?

here it is now 3:00 am and still nothing. is just unacceptable. then as I walk turned around I here someone say its the er wat do u expect. so I POLIETLY SAID I completely understand that but when you been here since 7 p.m.

as soon as I got off from work and its now almost 3 am not to be checked on not. knowing what's going on with my child. then its a problem.

I said communication goes along way. people do have families that they need to go home to.

Hope all is OK now! I, too, have had a few terrible experiences with Atrium, different practices (Pineville hospital and Ballantyne Family).

Look for a local "private practice". Atrium personnel think they RULE and are UNTOUCHABLE!!!

Unehtical debt collections

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They turned me over to a debt collector Revco Solutions for a $56.16 charge they say I owe one of their clinics, from April 2023 date of service. However, my bill from Wake Forest Baptist Health shows the only amount I owe is to the doctor I saw in October 2023, and I only have one more payment of approximately $50 (which I will pay in April when I get my statement).

The doctor I saw in April was paid in full as of January 2024. I never got the statement from that appointment until November 2023 (8 months after the date of service) Then there is always a delay at Wake Forest Baptist Health in posting payments to my account.

Their billing and posting payments delays always makes it looks like patients aren't paying their bills in a timely manner. It's unethical.

The unprofessional behavior

I went to the emergency room at Cabarrus Atrium Healthcare and was presenting with severe stomach pain the admitting Nurse there told the Doctor in a very loud voice I just wanted a (fix) it turns out I had an ileus with gangrenous large colon. Spent about a month in the hospital. These people should be held accountable

Atrium seeks ratings over good patient healthcare

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Around March 2, 2024 Atrium introduced a new patient portal and changed Epic. No patient information prior to that date was populated in the new portal.

According to Atrium, they had no patients before that date. And, in keeping with this lack of understanding of patient needs, Atrium requested/expected patients to populate the patient history information themselves.

On or around 3-29-24 Atrium brought over patient information from the previous portal.

3+ weeks.

What Atrium had put in place demonstrates not even a modicum of understanding what healthcare and patient relations are. It does NOT show up in spreadsheets or ranking against their competitors but rather by doing the right thing as human beings for patients from a healthcare standpoint because that's the baseline for being a great hospital.

My son came in throwing up, dehydrated and pain in his stomach

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Told him to have seat and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait 5 hours and nothing, even after asking for a plan

Finally nurse came out to waiting room and placed a pic line in his arm and said he needed fluids, but never saw her again or any fluids!!!

I agree with the Drs that are leaving this hospital.

It is bloated bureaucracy that cares more about money than their patients.

I am 68 years young and local and have seen this hospital in the past as one of the best, but not anymore.

I actually checked myself in to the main campus in uptown approx 1 month ago, and I ended up leaving at 1 in the morning, because they said they did not have enough Drs to attend to the number of patients!!!

That location was filthy and after watching a man puke all the way across the waiting room and no one came to clean it up for 35 minutes!!!

Really people. This is the best you can do?!

Unfortunately, I was treated with total disrespect at Atrium Pineville's ER -- that was a while ago, my husband witnessed all with disbelief -- and despite several complaints, verbal & written, the answer came back "Triage nurse stated they followed protocol"! What did they expect her to say, "OOPS, WE WERE HAVING A BAD MORNING & DECIDED TO TAKE IT ALL OUT ON THIS PATIENT WITH A SEVERELY BLEEDING HEAD INJURY"?

Also terrible treatment by PA, Jennifer Sheldon who has a ton of "fake positive reviews" on-line. The only real ones are NEGATIVE!!

Horrible painful want to keep you coming back

The system is awful, I feel like they want to keep me in pain and sick. I was hospitalized a week.

The report they provided to my insurance included 1 of many symptoms. My insurance rejected the claim. They made me feel like I was losing my mind, multiple doctors sent me there and saw me and admitted me from the ER. I was transferred a few days to the hospital at home.

I got a couple diagnoses, but nothing documented. Furthermore, I was prescribed many medications. Long story short, the hospital worked out a deal with insurance and I ended up having to pay more and a lot of stress. Worse, my symptoms continue for months now and a biopsy finally confirmed I'm not crazy not a hypochondriac and that I was truly in pain.

Instead of thoroughly investigating and treating me. They left me in a room, insulted me and tried to make as much off me as they could. The doctor that thought he knew it all and wouldn't listen at all to my symptoms was arrogant and wrong. Doctor's office doesn't call back, don't respond to messages.

Log in an appointment even when you don't talk to anyone but the receptionist. Don't read medical records, record illnesses wrong, don't read reports and add illnesses.

They don't do homework show up like they are God and your lucky to have them when they know nothing about your medical history. They hardly read symptoms anymore.

Worst ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Worst 17 days of my life.Without a doubt the worst food I've ever could not eat in my life!!! Nobody ever came to take my meal orders so I got whatever crap they were slinging that day.

The food was always cold always dried out and so small that my 5-year-old grandson would have still been hungry.

They don't let you bring outside food in so when they screw up your order when you get colds right at food that's impossible to eat, I'm really curious to know what they expect you to eat. I know hospital foods not the best and I don't expect blue plate specials but this was beyond disgusting there are no words.
